DefensiveFit is not just our name but our program. Our training is influenced by multiple martial arts like Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jui-jitsu and Crossfit.
We believe no style, method or culture has all the answer The goal is to build reflexes, movements and overall physical fitness in order to have a solid foundation. From day one you will be doing short intense workouts, hitting pads and learning to react to attacks in effective ways. The reality is you don't get to pick the bad guy; the bad guy usually picks you so you MUST BE PREPARED!.
Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do - Bruce Lee’s personal system, the Jun Fan Martial Arts / Jeet Kune Do, is known for its economy of motion and integration of arts and ranges.
Filipino Martial Arts - Kali is an ancient word that serves as an umbrella term for all the Filipino martial arts. The weaponry training covers a wide spectrum featuring stick, blade and knife as well as flexible weapons and weapons of opportunity.
Muay Thai - Muay Thai is known as “King of the Ring” in kickboxing circles. These fights feature punches, kicks, elbows, knees, standing grappling and head-butts to wear down and knock out their opponent.
Judo/Brazilian Jiu-jitsu- are martial arts and combat sports that focus on throws & grappling with particular emphasis on ground fighting.

OUR FITNESS PROGRAM
Our program will provide you with the opportunity to improve your fitness and wellbeing in a way that will challenge you both mentally and physically. All workouts are self paced, so it doesn’t matter what your level of fitness is.
The workouts blend boxing, kickboxing, anaerobic and aerobics exercises for an intense cross-training workout. Combining high intensity with interval training results in EPOC (Excess post-exercise oxygen consumption), which speeds your metabolic rate and boost your metabolism for up to 48 hours after working out.
This type of training will improve your strength and endurance, build muscle and reduce body fat while learning self-defense.
We don't follow any specific diet, but we do recommend you eat a high protein source, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no artificial sugar. Every meal and snack should contain a source of protein with a source of carbohydrate or fat.
Another suggestion we make is not mixing carbohydrates with fats. When you eat carbohydrates your insulin levels are elevated. When eating both carbs and fat together it will increase fat storage.
Our focus is not in calorie counting, as we know it can be stressful. What we advise is being a conscious eater and focus more on portion control.
